Need help selecting parts (383)...

Well, I'm doing the good ol 383 buildup and these are tentative parts that I have chosen. Please give me your opinions and or suggestions!!!

Pistons: JE/SRP Forged Pistons (11:1 comp)
Connecting Rods: 4340 H-beams
Crankshaft: 4340 forged crank, Clevite 77 main and rod bearings
Camshaft: (indecisive here): CC306, 1.6 Crane Gold RR's
Heads: 195cc AFR LT4 Street Heads (2.02/1.60), with ported LT4 intake (58mm), BBK 58mm TB
ALL INTERNALLY BALANCED!!

The bigges thing is on the camshaft/heads...are the heads too big or small??? This will NOT be a strict race car. It won't be a daily driver, but more of a weekend play toy!!!

NOTE: While breaking in the motor, I plan on saving for a Moser 12-bolt and a McLeod Street Twin, so that is all covered.

No. I think you will be fine. I have bud with a 95 z28 with a 383 LT1 and the 306 and loves it. He is running ported LT1's with 2.02/1.60 valves. I have another friend with a 96 Impala SS with a 396 LT1 stroker with the 306 and 210cc LT4 AFR's with 2.08/160 valves and a Yank 4000 stall and he drives it to work eveyday. Rain or shine. And runs 11.90's at the strip in 4400lb car. So I think for a weekend toy you will love the power and drivability. Good luck with the buildup.
