yes im sure its not the intake leaking, just replaced the gaskets and rtv on it two weeks ago,i got under the car today and it looks like its only leaking on the rear of the oil pan on the drivers side. i especially noticed oil gathered on the last bolt hole on the pan, then it trickles along the rear of the pan then stops and gathers right under the rear main seal, i dont think its the rear main seal, then again i might be wrong,
what are the syptoms of a rear main seal leaking????

i've never had a rear main leak so i'm not sure what the oil path would be. i would imagine it would collect at the rear of the pan and get the entire underside coated w/ oil eventually.
not doubting you, but have you ran your hand around the back of the intake on the sealing points and below to make sure they aren't wet w/ oil? just want to make doubly sure because replacing an oil pan gasket w/ the engine in the bay is not fun at all. have you checked the torque on the oil pan bolts? if you want to really make sure you can clean the engine real good and put a dye in your oil to zero in where the leak is coming from.

Make sure its not th erear main seal... I had a similar leak... pulled the trans twice on my 95 and replaced it b4 realizing there was a slight grove on the end of the crank allowing it to get by..... Had to buy a repair kit, and its dry as a bone!!!!!

I've got my oil pan off right now. I'd think if the rear main was leaking, there would be some oil also in the transmission convertor cover.
The pan is very easy to get to and get off once the motor mounts are removed and the engine jacked up...then loosen the 6 K-member bolts leaving about 5-6 threads in the bolts so the K-member will drop down about another 3/4" which gives you plenty of room to get the pan out.
I'm in FTW, but not really interested in working on someones car right at the moment, I've been working on mine all day every w/e the past 3 w/es now And my car is stuck on the lift for a while awaiting parts....
