Need help removing EGR on exhaust manifold
Need help removing EGR on exhaust manifold
I cannot get this bolt off, its the bolt on the exhaust manifold on the passenger side with only one bolt holding it.
From the top i can get it with a ratchet and some swivel joints, but i do not have any space to turn it
from the bottom, i can easily see it, but a ratchet will not fit, only a 1/2 inch open end wrench will fit, but i cannot get eneugh leverage to break it loose even chaining the wrenches together.
Is it possible that you have to unscrew it the opposite way or something
im turning it lefty loosy, but it is not budging its like its only getting tighter
HELP Please

Re: Need help removing EGR on exhaust manifold
If it's getting tighter there is a good possibility that it was cross threaded the last time it was installed, yeah your best bet is to use some penetrating oil. I got mine with a stubby wratchet from underneath the car. Good luck
Re: Need help removing EGR on exhaust manifold
I remember when I did my header install, that was the only thing that gave me problems coming off. I soaked the bolt with PB Blaster several times a day for two days and then it popped right off with a stubby open end wrench.
Re: Need help removing EGR on exhaust manifold
THANKS, the penatrating oil worked perfectly
I sprayed, waited an hour, sprayed again, waited 10 mins
and it came right off with a open end wrench
Thank you very much
