need help quick!!
just got my new slp zr-1 style wheels and tires from thunder racing/slp. they don't seem to want to fit all the way on the axle hub....what's the trick to this or do these wheels not fit on my 1995 z-28 even though they say they do.
I've never seen those wheels up close, but I have a '95 and when I went to put factory wheels off a '97, I had to take a Dremel and grind out the small lip inside the wheel. There was a small lip that fits around the inner ring on the hub that wouldn't fit over it. I kept steady with the Dremel until I had it grinded down enough and it slid on.
Sounds like you may have the same problem. The aluminim grinds easily. Just don't get carried away. Nice and smooth, round and round. Don't go slow-make a couple laps per second and it'll keep smooth.
This may not be your problem, but if it is it's easy to fix. Don't let some goof tell you it has to fit tight to keep the wheel from wobbling. That's so incredibly stupid, but some will actually tell you that. The lugs support the wheel.

thanks for the tip...i just started doing just that....it's the little lip that wont allow the wheel to sit flat on the hub....i got worried for a minute that they wouldn't fit. not even wheels and tires can go on for me without incident
i got them all on.....thanks for the help. it would be nice if they shipped a little piece of paper that told you that it might need to be grinded down to fit properly......they pack every other little piece of paper in there, why not that
