NEED HELP with picking out pistons 383

Hey guys,

Ok, first of all i'm not running NOS or a supercharger. I would like to find some pistons that are alittle better than stock. Do i need to with forged or what??? I'm not looking to spend to much on this, nothing over 350. What should i go with??

I'm building a 383 with 5.7 rods and 3.750 stroke.

Please help....

Just curious... I see a lot of guys posting about building a 383 but without much of a budget. If you don't have that much money I would just with a 355. The machine work on the engine plus all the little things will add up heavy. I just built mine and went about 3k over budget on just stuff that needed to be done to compliment the 383. But if you insist, you can pretty much go with any brand of hyper pistons. They will be better than stock ones. The only thing I've heard on the stock motors that are strong are the rods but you;ll be changing them anyway.

good luck.

KB makes some nice hypereutectics that have been used sucessfully in a number of high performance LT1's that I am aware of.

Agreed If you decide you want to go with a forged piston then I would recommend going with an SRP forged piston.
