need help with this mcleod twin disc setup

ok i bought a used mcleod twin disc setup and everything looks good and nothing is worn badly the only thing is. i am missing the shims and bolts that go through the floater plate. my question is is this something i am going to have to get from mcleod or can i go to the local hardware store and pick it up. i am going to be changing my clutch the 4 of july weekend so i need to do something quickly. also if i can pick this up from the local hardware store can i please get some dimensions.
thanks

they are just shims really. You could get something at a hardware store, but you would have to just start small and keep adding shims till its right.

ok i will try that. my only other question is how tight should the floater plate be to the first clutch plate. should it fit flush on there are should there be a little space. what i mean by that is do i add shim just to make it sit level with the first clutch plate or do i keep adding shims in there until there is an 8th inch gap or something.
come on someone please help me out here

ok maybe i am not saying something right here. does anyone know how much space is between the clutch disc(the one that is against the flywheel and the floater plate. is it just enough to where they dont touch or is it an 8th, 1/2, or what. come on someone help me out here.

Just had to rebuild my mcleod do it as follows...

Place flywheel on bench face up.

attach floater with first disc installed...shim until there is a 20 thousandths approx gap between disc and floater, or until it spins freely...

add second disc and attach rpessure plate...shim until top of throwout bearing to back of flywheel is 3.960....50thousandths either way is acceptable...

make sure discs are acceptable..should be between 300Kand 260K otherwise replace...

shims are 3/8 id and 3/4 od... this should get you movin foward hope it helps.
