Well I'm in the middle of do a ls1 brake conversion and I go to put on the new spindles and I start threading the lower castle nut over the ball joint by hand and it goes a little bit then starts getting harder, I figured I just needed to use rachet on it so I start racheting and it isn't tightning down. I looked at it and only the first couple threads are stripped on it, don't know how it happened but does anybody now what size die i need to rethread the bolt?
Also another problem arose, on both sides the ball joint spins with the castle nut when you try to tighten it down making it impossible to fully tighten down the castle nut. I thought the ball joints were worn but the wear indicators haven't even moved at all. Anybody know what i can do to keep them from spinning so I can tighten down the castle nut?

 

I did mine last week also. One side spun .So I used visegrips and a rag to hold it and it tightened down.It worked
