Need help with locking header bolts

I'm changing my header gaskets, and I have stage 8 locking bolts. Any advice on getting the clips off? There's not much room at all.

Now go buy some Breslin header bolts and you won't have to bother with clips ever again.

I used a scratch awl. It's one of those things that looks like a stubby screwdriver, but has a sharp pointed end. Take the tip of it and stick it in the clip and then pop it out! It's that easy

Do those Breslin bolts really work that good? I'm getting ready to take off my Stage 8's

I just redid my headers and I used the 1 inch stainless steel Breslins, and I really like them. They are easy to use and look pretty cool also. You can get them from Summit or Jegs. I think I got mine form Summit. The only draw back are they are a little pricey. I think they were ~$70-$75 delivered.

Re: Need help with locking header bolts

i dont like the breslin design personally, i can see that lil set screw getting stuck and then rounding out the top of it and then itll be all kindsa fun getting the bolts out without damaging the threads. Something about small allen head screws inside an exaust bolt doesnt seem appealing to me. Ill stick with stage 8s and spend 10 minutes extra popping off E-clips rather then trying to drill out stuck set screws. Thats just my 2 cents.
