Need help on installing trans mount

I know it is easy installing a trans mount.... Removing the cross member, do I need to have something holding my transmission up?

just place it under the trans and jack it up until it takes the pressure off of the cross member. then remove everything. Out in new mount then reinstall everything.

Well put the round part of the jack on the tranny and start pumping...lol

Put the jack head closer to the rear of the tranny (towards the rear end) and jack it up enough to get reasonable clearance to replace the mount...
If you feel more comfortable, you "can" take off the crossmember leaving the jack under the tranny. Thats if you dont trust the jack....lol

Good Luck!!

Dont' actually jack the trans up,just support it enough to hold it where it is. And a floor jack would be best so as to facilitate any adjustments side to side if needed putting the new one in. MO

You will have to.Get a 2x12 wide place between jack cup and pan long enough to go past edges of pan to help disperse weight evenly and not dent pan. And the above method and you'll be fine.
