Need help ID some parts/where to get replacements?
Need help ID some parts/where to get replacements?
I spent the day yesterday out in the garage with my new Clarke 20-gallon parts washer cleaning all my stuff to get this LT1 ready to get back on the road. (No, I didn't wash any rubber or plastic in it
). Anyways, as I came across broken stuff that needed replaced, I took a pic and then drew an arrow.
What exactly is this, and can I get the replacement from GM, or Autozone, best source if you know...
Here's my $70 cabinet I bought at Home Depot, a bit better than the Lowes one. Keeping the doors closed to keep dust from getting everywhere again:

Behold the power of Goo-Gone! There is no negative to using this correct?

1993-1997 MAP sensor seal 1635948 $2.12
This is the EGR solenoid correct? I need the vac line that goes in that arrow. If it IS the EGR solenoid, then I don't need that vac line, because I'm deleting the EGR system.

1. Need this rubber line. Is that a GM part #?
http://paradox.shacknet.nu/dave88lx/.../needpart1.jpg
2. Looking at shoebox's site, this looks like the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve, but the spacing on the 2 adjacent vac nipples look spaced differently.

This is the pic on Shoebox's site:

See how it's different?
3. This rubber elbow:

4. The 2 metal rings that go on the OptiSpark here:
http://paradox.shacknet.nu/dave88lx/.../needpart4.jpg
5. This rubber elbow as well:
http://paradox.shacknet.nu/dave88lx/.../needpart5.jpg
6. The large rubber ring that seals the front cover of the water pump. Maybe I do not need it though with the CSI elec. WP? It seems to have a SMALL seal...
Lastly, I broke a couple electrical connectors in the wiring harness. Does GM sell just the connector?
Thanks!!!
Dave

That was the EGR sol. you had there.. I dunno if you can take it off without throwing a code (unless you program it out) I believe the computer looks for a vacuum. Mine throws a code b/c i had to unhook the valve. I hadn't plugged the line up with something yet to keep it from throwing one. Someone else might chime in with more knowledge about it.
Ima bout 80% positive they sell the electrical connections. They arn't cheap though. I know gmpartsdirect.com has some. But like i said.. not cheap. The one i looked at was on shoeboxs site that goes into the power window module and it was like 26 bucks. + their shipping charge.

Thanks for the info on the EGR, I'm going to be doing an OBDII -> OBDI conversion, and will have the EGR/AIR taken out of the programming.
I did a search on "EGR" in just the Title line alone and came up with 12 pages of results, It's beyond me why people still ask the question.
I don't remember what connection I broke, but I'll find out when I go to replace my harness wire protector stuff...

The EVAP solenoid p/ns are the same for all years.
4. GM PART # 10474278 opti o-ring (they are rubber)
5. GM PART # 12556257 for the whole pipe. I can only assume it comes with the rubber hose, as it is not listed by itself.
6. GM PART # 10128329

The Opti O-rings are rubber? Must have been so hard/brittle I thought they were metal
The part the Vent hose connects to at the bottom of the diagram you posted, what is that called? It would be the part in my hand in pic one...
I just looked at the pic I took of mine, it is different than the one in your pic, and the diagram...? The hoses.

Right I got that, but I was saying in the pic that you posted vs. the pic of mine, it's different no?
