Need help finding new engine
Well, my engine finally gave out yesterday. Still unsure of the cause since I have not had time to examine it yet. I am in college and its finals week, so gotta wait a whole week before tearing it apart...plus its stuck about 250 miles away from home Its time for me to start considering what set up to go for. Looking at some 383's, but I want something reliable this time. Im not looking for some real serious ponies, but pretty decent, say 425 at flywheel. Anyone have any recomendations? Been looking at some 190cc AFR heads and possibly porting my own intake instead of LT4 intake. Still unsure on what cam. Please help!

How much are you trying to spend, $3000 $4000, anyway here are some recomendations:
Summit sells a complete 383 with AFR heads from recon for around $5500 I think.
Scoggin-Dickey has all forged splayed cap 383 shortblocks assembled for $4400
Nu-Tek can get you hooked up with whatever you need as well just depends on you funds, abilities and time constraints.

An assembled short block is pretty much what I am looking for, 355 or 383/385. As for price, well my parents are suposed to help me out since this car is less than a year old to me and I am in college. My best guess would be 5-6 grand total. I really want those AFR 190cc heads however. I am willing to settle for a 355 to lower the cost to get AFR heads, plus I worry about the rods being cleared of the block/cam for a stroker. Looking for something that wont give me any problems for at least 3 years.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Give Nu-Tek a call do a web search cause I don't have the web address handy, but Nick can set you up with a 383 with the Scat 9000 cast crank, Scat 6" forged rods, SRP forged flatops AFR heads etc just let him know your budget and power goals and I'm sure he can get you what you need.
