Need help fast, ran car without Air temp. Sensor
went to start my car this morning, forgetting that last week i cleaned my air filter and didnt hook up my air temp. sensor. well it was 20 ish degrees this morning the car started and idled like it had a very choppy cam. this is my first time starting the car in cold weather so i figured that it was just cold. i went to back it out of the garage and it stalled. i went to start it back up and it wouldnt.... i poped the hood and saw my problem, i hooked it back up and it still would not start, tried it three times. it turnes over it just doesnt fire. do you think its flooded? is so how do i fix that?

ok, i pulled the pcm batt fuse for 1 min, and still the car will not start even after a very long crank. i know right before the car stalled i would give it gas and the engine would just seem like it wanted to stall out. could this be the optispark? im only on a college budget and saving for wheels i dont want to replace something i dont have to. is there something i can use to test the opti?

If you think it might be flooded, hold the gas pedal to the floor while cranking. The PCM will sense this as "clear flood mode" and shut off the injectors, while letting in the maximum amount of air.

If it may be flooded, try starting it with the gas pedal on the floor... that puts the PCM in "clear-flood" mode. Hold it there until it starts... if it does.
The IAT sensor doesn't really control much... maybe a little timing advance... but not anything that would prevent the car from starting. The major problem, if the IAT sensor is missing from the intake elbow, would be a little extra air bypassing the MAF.
You mentioned the IAT is disconnected because you cleaned your filter... do you have the sensor relocated to the CAI? In that case, you wouldn't even have a porblem with air leaking downstream of the MAF.

Your problem has nothing to do with the air inlet temp sensor being disconnected. I can't tell you how many I've seen disconnected after a filter change (many GM temp sensors are on the filter lid), the only effect I've ever seen was the SES light illuminated. Without it the computer will assume it is very cold out and correct for it through the O2 sensor.
How old is the Opti spark unit? It could have taken a dump on you. Sometimes they go quite fast. I would check for spark and fuel pressure and then go from there.

well i just had a very big opps, my grandpa had kerosine in a gas container. that is the one i grabbed, i must of put a half gallon or a gallon in. the car started with it but didnt last. after being pissed off about that.... i tested the opti by using the non pink wire on the injectors and found that it wasnt flashing on my tester so it must be the opti.
so you guys can get your laughs in now, because its even worse than an empty tank....
