Need Help Fast!! Please Answer!!

I'm in the middle of replacing my optispark and it looks to me like I still have the dowel pin from a pre 95 style opti. Will this pin work with a converted opti, (95 Vented Style) - and btw thats whats been on the car for at least the last 10k miles. IF I can't use this pin how do I get this pin out and put in a new one. Where the hell would I find a cam dowel pin on Saturday. How far out should the pin be. It looks like it's about 1/4".

Forgive me for being daft, but if you're already using a 95+ vented opti, and you're replacing it with another 95+ vented opti, why wouldn't the same pin you were using before work in this one? You know the dowel that came in the new opti comes out, and you can use the one you had before, right? All you have to do is pull whatever dowel was in the opti out of the opti, it doesn't take much more than a slight tug with your fingers.. If you don't know, the dowel is keyed with the opti so that your timing won't be thrown off. So if it looks like it doesn't fit, just match the key on the dowel with where the extra groove is on the opti. Hope I've helped.

If he's already run the rest of the conversion to a vented opti, why wouldnt the dowel pin he was using work with another vented opti? I'm confused :\ (PS: you know me, and that's nothing new..)
