Need help diagnosing problem from a datalogged 1/4 run.
Anybody that thinks they can help figure out the problem, please let me know and I'll email you the Datamaster scan of my car. Here's some info:
I just installed stage 2 ported heads from a very reputable board sponser as well as an XE230/236 cam. The heads have 2.00 intake / 1.56 exhaust valves, titanium retainers and guide plates. I'm running CC 1.6 rr's, double valve springs, LT4 Extreme timing chain, stock style roller lifters, MAC shorties, SLP 2OTL exhaust, vigilante 2800 stall, ported MAF ends, 30 lb injectors, 255 lph fuel pump, NGK TR6's (future nitrous plans) blah, blah blah, etc., etc. I kept the stock unported intake. I have a used MSD 6 digital, MSD blaster coil, Taylor wires and new TR6 plugs.
Mind you, the car ran extremely well with just bolt-ons (12.849 @ 105.1). I went high end on every part I installed although I reused some parts that were already on the car. The heads came from an extremely reputable sponsor on this board and I'm sure the problems aren't with the heads. Here's the flow numbers (not independently verified, but I trust them):
Lift Intake Exhaust
.300 201 138
.400 243 171
.500 262 190
.600 278 198
Compression ratio should be about 11:1. The car only made 320 rwhp on the dyno while breaking up at 5900 rpm or so. I have as much as 41* of timing with absolutely no knock on 93 octane. A/F is 12.5-12.9 through the whole run so it's a little rich but not enough to explain the loss of power. Unfortunately, the one thing I went cheap on was the one thing I shouldn't have - the opti. It's a rebuilt '95 vented unit. I have a strong suspicion my problems are ignition related and that I may even be down a cylinder. The datalog looks VERY funky. The rpms bounce up and down all throughout the rev range, but especially right before each shift.
Please let me know what you think. Also, post an email address if you'd like to see the Datamaster file.
BTW - best run since heads/cam: 12.45 @ 109.8 w/ 1.76. Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
