When I took the oil cooler off the 93 Z28 I'm working on, I unbolted the long "bolt" that the oil filter spins on from the block, then i lifted the actual oil cooler off the engine, there are two bolts that bolt the oil filter adapter to the block. I swear there was a c clip in there that wasn't clipped to anything, it was just sitting there, I have looked and looked, and for the life of me, if it's supposed to go there, I have no idea where. I don't even see what good it would do anywhere in the oil cooler. I want to make sure before I put the engine in the car.

Does not the clip keep the long bolt from being removed from the adapter?
