I just changed my opti and fired her up and she runs fine just idling, but if i hit the gas she dies and has a hard time restarting> its also idling higher than normal around 1200 this seems to be a vacume leak of some kind. The only thing i had a problem remebering was which vacume line went were on the opti there were two, could this cause it?

 

I don't think connecting the vacuum lines incorrectly to the opti is the root cause of the problem. Check for vacuum leak around the intake elbow and check the spark plug wiring. Is the ECM throwing any codes?
