Need Help. Car Died On Me! 8 Codes On Scanner.

I left my house about a half hour ago and my car started a little hard and began to backfire like I reported in an earlier post. I headed into town to get gas and it ran fine. After I pumped the gas and paid, I came back out, started up the car and it didn't want to start. I kept cranking on it and after about 5 sec. it finally started. It would barely run and started to chug really bad. I got it across the street into a parking lot where it ended up dieing on me.

I checked my scanner and had 8 codes. Codes 48,36,41,42,46,18,51 and 16. I had gotten code 36 about 2 wks. ago, but it has since cleared itself. Anyway, I sat there for about 5 minutes then tried to start it. It started up like it normally should with no backfiring. I drove it about 6 miles home with no problems. Although at one point it felt like I lost some power for a sec. then I got it back. I also went to WOT when I was about 1/4 mile from my house and it ran fine. My guess it the optispark, but I'm not sure why it would do that then start right up and run fine? Any ideas?

Forgot to ask. Where can I find good opti install instructions? I'd like to get it started tonight or early tomorrow. Also I've got a new opti, what gaskets and extras do I need? Thanks.

http://www.streetillusionsracing.com...ll/install.htm is a pretty good place for a guide. You will need water pump gaskets.

Thanks Shoebox. I've almost got it off. Just gotta remove the balancer. It looks like I've got a hell of an oil leak on the front of the intake. We'll fix that too. BTW, where can I find a good set of instructions or a guide on how to do the Air Pump Removal? Also what size plug fits the MAC headers air tube? Thanks.
