Okay here are my 'problems'

1) last year my car toped out at 240km/h, this year I couldn't get it past 220km/h.
2) Once and a while if I drive my car in OD and then accelerate, it will hesitate and make a popping sound on the left side.
3) I just took it for a cruise and got it to 180km/h in OD and at 5000rpm it still wouldn't shift into high gear.

Now something is wrong and its pissing me off. Since my 240km/h run last year I put a Hypertech Chip in the car, and added 17inch eagle alloy wheels and kuhmo tires.
What is my problem and how do I fix it?

 

Conversions:
240 km/h = 149.1 MPH
220 km/h = 136.7 MPH
180 km/h = 111.8 MPH

 

Yeah I know its fast but I was expecting it to go at least 240km/h this year or maybe even more, but I really want to know why its popping and not shifting, to me it doesnt seem very good, like something is majorly wrong but I dont know what.

I wished I could have added more to the thread before. Honestly top speed is somthing that I have never measured in my car. I have never had the opportunity (legally) to do this.

The popping could be trans mounts. May want to check.

 

It doesnt sound like a mount, it sounds more like ignition but Im not to sure, so I wondered if it was something anyone had come across before.
As for top speed, when you live in a big flat unpopulated area like I do, there are lots of places to find out how fast your car goes.

second, are those tires the same height as the stockers?

 

Have you changed your plugs and wires?

On the not shifting,you need to check the TV cable adjustment as your 93 is a 700R4 not the electronic 4L60E

 

Hmm wierd, I drove it into school today and on my way home decided to mat it and it pulled fine and shifted fine.
I still think Iam going to change the plugs and wires.
Why do you say take the chip out, do they go bad or something?

 

Oh and about the tires, there the same size as the tires I got when I bought the car, but they weren't stock size. I matched my new tires to the old tires that were on the car and that is when it worked the best so I dont think tires have made a difference. They are same heighth and width and all that. Maybe a little softer compound.

 

Hypertech = garbage... that is why they are saying to take the chip out.
