Installing the Mezerie water pump along with upgrading to a vented opti and 95 opti timing cover. Still haven't picked a camshaft but it will no doubt be much more aggressive than stock.

What double roller timing chain is everyone using nowadays? Thanx

i am just using a stock lt1 set, along with alot of the other guys, some of them going really fast

your rarely hear about a stock set breaking or failing, and that is why i always recommend them. you can pick up all three pieces for a little more than a hundred at your local chevy dealer (last time i checked at least)

A Cloyes double roller is $40 cheaper than an OEM set.

OP, run the Cloyes 3145. You will need to clearance the timing cover slightly to get it to fit.

This is good to know. Thanx. Do you remember where? Or is it pretty obvious when you go to place the cover over it?

On the back of the timing cover behind the water pump seal there are two metal tabs that need to be ground off. After that, you'll need to make sure the chain doesn't hit the cover anywhere. I did this by smearing some grease on the chain, then installed the cover. Turn over the engine a few times, then remove the cover. Wherever there is grease on the cover is where you need to grind.

You might get lucky and only need to grind off the metal tabs though.
