Question Need to change my spark plugs, should I change my wires and go with an OVC setup?

For a while my car (95 Z28 Vert) had a weak coil and it was running pig rich. I need to change my plugs (I think one is fouled out) and I figure why not change my wires while I'm doing it (car has 83K with stock wires). I have always heard that it is a royal pain to change the plugs and run the wires through their stock locations so I'm considering doing an OVC setup. I have seen this setup done before but the cars always had headers. I was wondering would I enconter any problems trying to do an OVC setup with stock manifolds? I don't see why I couldn't do it with stock manifolds but I just want to make sure. I hope in doing this I can cut down on the time it will take me to do a plug and wire swap.

Stock manifolds won't work well with OTVC wires.. the manifold loop up and would hit the wires. Headers have spaces b/w them where you place wires as they go down to the plugs, manifolds have no such space.

I agree with Javier as to them not working well. My Plug/Wire change took me over 7 hours in my driveway when I had my stock manifolds, not to mention countless scars on my hands. Looks like and easy solution is to get a set of pacesetter longtubes and make that wire change a breeze!

Unless you have LT's then I would stick with the stock wires. OVC will burn up on the stock manifolds.

How would the OTVC wires do with Hooker shorties? Only plug I had a problem getting to was the #2. I'm going to an electric wp and figured it would be easier to do this with that off and out of the way. I have taylors now, and don't have any problems, but they probably haven't been changed in 4 years or so. What do y'all think?

Looking at the pics of your engine bay in your sig, it looks like it'd be tough to route the wires past the primaries... you only have one half of the bay pictured though. Cylinders 3 and 5 look near impossible to route OTVC without touching the primary.

Since they're custom length, I'll see what I can do. Thanks for the advice. Anyone with shorties and OTVC wires, specifically Taylors? Thanks.
