handling LT1 vs. LS1??

do you have any idea which car handles better LT1 or LS1? l saw on cobra forum, a guy said that he had 2000 T/A and he had many problems and he had the most important part is, T/A handles terribly. it is not even comparable with cobra.. is that correct? T/A handles bad? well l think my LT1 handles ok..

l just wanted to see what you guys think.. (HEY LT1 & LS1 owners be honest )

thanks

Re: handling LT1 vs. LS1??

I never really noticed a difference between my buddie's LS1 and my LT1. They both handle awesomely. I will say that it may just be a feeling but my 87 TA seemed to handle better than this 94 Z. It may just be me but it just feels so much taller. Maybe it handled better because it the springs were shot and it was like it was lowered.

They are the same body style so in essence there should be no difference, structurally. BUT there is a lighter motor up front and that may lead to better handling in a auto x course, who knows it that leads to better elapsed times but the lighter a veh is, the less stress on brakes and suspension.

Having IRS which 03/04 cobras have is certainly a benefit in the handling dept...

The fact that a cobra has IRS, which is theoretically better than a live rear axle doesnt tell the whole tale. The execution of the live axle on the fbody is as good as its going to get for this kind of setup. The IRS on a cobra is far from cutting edge, and in my experience, a mustang owner must spend a great deal more on handling mods to keep up with a comparable fbody setup.
