Need answer quick concerning low temp fan kit

I got a low temp fan kit from a guy on Ebay and it came with instructions. It says locate the water jacket plug in the passenger side head between spark plugs 6 and 8. Remove plug with a piece of 5/16 square bar. Use a 7/8" deep well socket to install the cooling fan switch.

Uhhh, what the hell. I thought the engine coolant sensor for a 95 Z28 was located in the front of the water pump. Shouldn't all I have to do it drain my coolant, take out that plug, replace it with the new one, and plug the jumper harness into the stock wiring harness, and refill???

I apprecaiate any help
Thanks
John

You are going to add a sensor, so you have to leave the other two in (one in the water pump for the pcm and one in the LH head for the gauge). It's pretty hard to get to that plug in the RH head.

Yeah, I found it and am about to take it out. It just didn't look right. Thanks, I didn't want to go and mess something up.

Good luck with that 5/16" square bar. Didn't work for me. That plug is tight. The correct tool is an 8 mm drain plug socket.
