Re: need air intake manifold

Are you also getting LT4 heads? The LT4 intake won't even bolt on LT1 heads without minor machine work to either the heads or manifold. Then when you get it bolted on it won't be any different than the LT1 intake manifold. The LT4 intake is virtually identical, except for some extra metal at the top of each runner to allow it to be ported to match the LT4 heads (which it doesn't match from the factory).

Edelbrock has announce LT1 and LT4 intakes, but even though they are in the catalog, there is no indication when (or even if) they will actually be avaiable. We're all still waiting for Edelbrocks first version of the LT1 intake, which appeared in their catalog in 1995..... and was never actually sold.

Do a "search"..... the Edelbrock intakes have been the subject of several threads over the past couple months.

there are much better choices when it comes to heads.

just get some ported stock lt1 castings from Lloyd Elliot and a mild cam....

You can't get the LT1->LT4 conversion kit, because GM doesn't make it any more..... they don't make the intake manifold, so they can't make the "kit". Maybe some catalog places have a kit left, but its not likely.

Listen to advice regarding:

NO! It's overpriced for the gains you actually get listen to Injuneer and teke, talk with someone like Lloyd or if you're dead set on LT4 heads get a set of AFRs.

More power can be made for the same money following the same head and cam approach. Do yourself a favor and look at all the other options out there. The cam is also pretty small in the LT4 "kit."

Re: need air intake manifold

I also was going to put the lt4 setup in my SS but as of right now all i have is the ported by L.E. LT4 heads. I emailed Edelbrock about a month ago and they emailed me back saying that they were going to be releasing the 94-97 LT1 & LT4 intakes in Jun. no later then July. they even gave me the part #'s#7101(LT1)-#7109(LT4). hopefully they really r going to be coming out cause I got these heads but no intake, and I aint buying an LT4 intake for $1000 bucks on ebay or anywere else for that matter.

Re: need air intake manifold

you can have someone modify a stock one to work. it's roughly 200 bucks.
