Need advice on Ported Heads/Cam packages!
Ok it is the time guy, I am looking into getting a set of ported and polished heads/ custom cam package.
I am wondering what everyone's opinions are on, Lloyd Elliots, Advanced Induction, or even the AFR's... and which AFR's if you choose those.
I would like to not spend over 2k on this package, but I do realize AFR's will bust that budget.
What is everyone's opinions on which package I should go with, (as in which level)... Or if you think it would be worth the extra money to shell out on AFR's.
I have a 383 LT1, all forged internals, all the boltons and nitrous. Currently N/A I have put down 372rwhp, I am looking to get it above 400 N/A and in the 6's on the juice.
Thanks for anyones help!

Re: Need advice on Ported Heads/Cam packages!
Either one of those men will get you over the mark. i have LE heads and gm847 cam With an auto. Phil does good work so does lloyed you just pay a little more with one than the other. i know 2 people that have LE stuff besides me and they both will put up, so i think if it is on a budget LE if not get some AFRs and send them to lloyed
Re: Need advice on Ported Heads/Cam packages!
Over the last year or so it seems as though LE has come up some in price and AI has come down, they are pretty competitively priced these days. I would use either of them LONG before AFRs and IF I felt I needed a larger port casting LT4s or Trickflows would be the choice not AFRs.
Re: Need advice on Ported Heads/Cam packages!
AFR 215cc raised runners ported by Lloyd.... that just gets me going! With the new Edlebrock LTx manifold about to be released I think that is a hell of a combination! Let Lloyd or AI get ahold of them and hog them out. They will make one hell of a difference on that 383.
Re: Need advice on Ported Heads/Cam packages!
For your goals, I would go with an LE2-383 package from Lloyd. You will hit your desired peak level and still have a very drivable setup.
As far as AI vs. Lloyd on price, just make sure you are comparing similar components from each business.
Don't go with 215RR's. A solid roller + sheet metal intake will put most people off from this wild of a setup.

Yea, I'm in a similar boat in trying to decide what I want to do...
I'm going to do an Edelbrock intake setup with a solid-roller and some serious heads; either TFRs or AFRs and heavily ported; I'm not sure which heads or who I want to do them either LE or AI or ?
All I know is I'm going to coordinate the heads with a VRE racing 396 shortblock and am looking for over the 500rwhp mark NA, and about 700rwhp on the juice.

Steve Quinn did the LTX manifold... so a search on that might find you what they are talking about but... LT"x" most times reffers to a LT1 or LT4 intake manifold rather than a single plane, carbed intake or a sheetmetal intake.
