Need Advice

I'm feeling really confused about what I should do with my car. Let me begin with saying my license is gone for 7 months starting in early July so I have lots of time to work on the car.

I had a couple ideas about what I could do so I'll list them, but first I'll state what needs fixing. New waterpump, new powersteering pump, new clutch/pressure plate, leaking head gasket, air dam, new rad sensor, and the abs sensor.

1.) Engine rebuild car has (171,000 kms), I was thinking of rebuilding with a new cam and head setup, pistons etc so that I would have a fresh motor that has no issues that is a bit stronger and have some more power to boot.

2.) Buy Parts, I thought I could buy a set ZR1 wheels, some new rubber, a new clutch, shocks/springs, new rotars/pads, and then basics like plugs/wires, filters, fluids, belts and all that other crap.

I could also just save the money till spring but I'd like to have a plan as to what I want to do. The question thats running through my mind is if the motor is worth rebuilding at the mileage it has? I mean it could probably withstand another summer easily; but if I should just get it rebuilt then why do the gaskets now.

Re: Need Advice

I have a 96 Z28 with 140,000miles on it..... rebuilds on LT1's (top to bottom) are expensive... especially if someone else is doing the work for you. I'd suggest looking into the crate LT-1's.... warranty and new.... im looking at a crate 383 LT-1 for when its time... till then... I'll beat this one into the ground....
