Did you own this car since new? If not then I would have to say your 96 probably had some mods done to it you might not have realized and probably wasn't 'stock' if it ran that kind of time the 1st time out.

If it really was totally stock then congrats, cause that has to be a LT1 world record

 

I should probly mention its in a Fiero I actually feel real confident I can get it in the 12's. I was real tentative off the line, and itwas shifting really early. I worked out theshifting problem, now I just need to cut the 60ft.

 

Ok, I'll buy that. The fastest I've ever heard was around a 13.5 for a stock 93 car (which are geared better) Maybe you could add that tiny piece of relevant info next time you post an all stock LT1 best time in an LT1 Fbody forum

J Cole - Don't tell me you have a hard time believing 13.5, because a lot of people have done 13.50s in stock trim...

 

Sorry the first two lines were a quote, I accidentally deleted that part. Im very sure a 93 could pull those times. Ill try to fix it.

 

If you check some back issues of GMHTP the LT1 shoot out the bolt on cars were running low 12s. So believe it!

 

talk about finding an old post. the person you guys are talking about would be me. car is for sale now. i have video of the 13.1 at 105.7 on street tires with just a cai and a loudmouth with a gutted cat.

 

Didn't an LS1 run a 12.7 stock? I wouldn't say that's exactly the norm. I have no problem believing those times. Makes me hopeful that when I do run my car I'll skip the whole 12s area and go straight to elevens. Probably wishful thinking... we'll see how much stuff I can get in there before I go though.
