NA stock bottom-end ET record?

I was at the Chevy-Ford-Mopar Cajun Street Car Nationals at No Problem Raceway today.

I noticed a guy in a 4th Gen, so of course I felt obliged to go talk to him

Anyway, long story short, his Z28 was going 11.3x @ 116ish on
CNC LT4 Heads
Crane 210/224 cam
4500 Stall Vigilante (1.4x 60')
TH-350 Tranny
Stock Bottom-End

Dayum!

C/stock automatic guys have been running low 10's in the 4th gen stuff for a long time...

Stock heads, valvejob, stock lift cam...

Just depends on what you're willing to spend and put up with

Yeah, but those guys have like 260/270 cams @ .050", 5.13 gears, 5500 stalls, etc.

I was amazed at the combo he had vs. the times he ran more than anything else... A 210/224 Crane cam doing that well?

....damn...

Doesn't Frank95Z run 11.4x with the 210/224 cam too but with stock heads and a 3200 converter?

My car weighs 3330 with me in it. I have stock suspension with swaybars removed and mods that are in sig. My bottomend is not blueprinted because my heads have been on since they were installed by Chevy in 1995 Also on www.thunderacing.com under customer cars(Frank Benoit) there is a picture of my car with a list of mods. But I don't think that they ever updated my times. If the car that was running 11.30's with CNC heads is Cody Kern he is running my spare computer Cody has a good running car also. Frank95z

The car was that crazy light purple/grey color offered in the early 4th gens and was driven by a young guy who said he has about 700 passes on the motor and is waiting to drop his new 396 in.. The car has a one-of-a-kind exhaust system on it, which has four small pipes coming out in front of each rear tire.

How's Ma' Bell treating ya?

Mike
