N/A 355 104mph in the 1/8th 6-speed VIDEO

Hi all,
I went to the track again and got some new numbers. I only managed to get a few runs in, but the results are decent. The track conditions where not that good, so launching off the two step was not going to work (blowing the tires off at the line). I had to drive it totally by feel. Getting a 6-speed down the track is tricky business. As I said before the weather and the track where crappy, but I did the best I could for the conditions.

Results:
Run 1
1.53 60'
6.98 660'
104.44 MPH 1/8
10.88 @ 127.14 MPH 1/4

Run 2
1.55 60'
6.99 660'
101.1 MPH 1/8
10.90 @ 127.26 MPH 1/4

The DA was a best of 1,700'
Humidity: 71%
Water grains per pound: 65.1
Track temp: 75
Race weight: 3450 lbs

Here is a video of the runs.

I am sure with better track conditions I will be able to launch off the 2 step and shave a little more off of the ET, and add some MPH.

I weighed the car at the track and the scale said 3450. I weighed the car in Rockingham and the scale said 3350. I don't know which scale to trust . I ran about the same amount of fuel, and I weigh between 160-170, so I don't see how the race weight varied by 100 lbs.

I changed over to a 4:88 gear to help keep the car from bogging down like it did with the 4:10. So far I like it. Even with the conditions being what they where the car was consistently quicker and faster.

Nice runs but did something go wrong on the first pass b/c you have almost the same mph and ET going 104.4mph or 101mph at the the 1/8th? The pass with 104.4 should be closer to 130+mph unless something is not right. Later

Sexy, those 200cc factory castings and that little LT1 intake are really pushing that car. When are you coming back to N.C? I am trying to make our time tables match for my car, if possiable.

I totally agree it should have gone 130. Unfortunately, I hurried to the line and forgot to add some fuel. When I finished the pass my fuel pump was quiet, that means there is little pressure in the line. I put 5 gal in and didn't launch well on the final run. Its tricky getting a non pro-shifted manual (it means the trans still has synchros) car with almost 600 FWHP to run great 1/4mi numbers. It's even harder to do with a 4:88 gear; it’s amazing how fast it will tach up. I impressed my self with the 1-2-3 shift on my 104mph pass (slow on 4th), sadly I didn't do it as well on the 2nd pass, and I launched it about 1000 RPM less. It would probably go quicker with an automatic, but I love pounding gears.

Javier97Z28: I try to shift about 7,700 RPM, but in reality it varies by about 200-300 RPM (mainly in the first few gears). At 8,000 it's on the limiter. My friends say it sounds like a phone ringing LOL.

jasonisdn: It should be a couple of weeks. Send me a PM.

Only 104mph...I expected at least 110 =(

Haha JK. That car is running mean. I can't even imagine trying to run a 6spd that fast. One little change or variation and the run can be way off. Seat time will be your best friend with that setup.

I feel like shipping you my th400 so you can get out there and break the track for a change.

I wanna see it hook on the 2 step. You really do shift the crap out of that thing. From that angle I can't see the nose fall 1 little bit between shifts.
