Well, here's my problem...all of a sudden my car seemed to lose power. when accelerating the engine seems to be missing. I had the same problem 7,000 miles ago and replaced the cap and rotor and water pump.(water pump was leaking on the opti) My engine sounds good when revving while I am stopped but when I accelerate it just seems to bog,(rpm's will not go up) and if I hold the throttle constant the engine will surge once in a while. I think I ruled out the clutch because the rpm's dont go up without the car accelerating. Is it possible I could need a opti so soon? Also, the service engine soon light has not came on, I just dont know where to start.

I got new plugs and new plug wires, I checked and none of them are burned. Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance!

yeah, I know what you guys mean but wouldnt I get a service engine soon light?

 

I dying opti will not always give a SES light.
Definitely sounds like the opti or somthing ignition related.
