Is My WP Shot???

i think the knock/clack im hearing MIGHT be the WP going bad... i know on my old car when the WP was going out it made a knocking sounds from inside the WP! theres coolant coming from around the WP somewhere, usually i have probs with the bolts once everything is installed but then i tighten them up once more after i run the car and then they dont usually leak again! BUT this time it looks almost as if the coolant is coming from the weep hole, but i cant tell to well if it is or if its just coming from the bolts and then just leaking across the WP! i replaced that WP on 9/20/01 and its got about 40k miles on it?? do u guys think it might be shot???

well first make sure you have the right torque on the bolts, the torque on the bolts are 30 ft lbs, and if it still leaks out of the weep hole its time to change the wp again, 23k on a wp seems low so maybe retorqing might help

Make sure it is the weep hole that is leaking. 40K is not impossible my 96 Z28 went through 2 stockers in 75k, the orginal and the OEM replacement pump. The replacemnet pump last about 35K, so I said the hell with the stock replacements and just put on a CSI on it. Good luck
