My window is stuck....

...DOWN! Is there an easy way to get the window up with the motor/switch out? I would like to get that thing up before I sleep or it rains, which ever comes first. I have a bag over it right now but I know Ill be missing something if I leave it that way in the morning. This is one of those times that I wish I had a garage. Thanks guys.

If you have some tools, you can get the window motor off track and pull the window up by hand, but that's not something quick or easy. especially if you haven't ever changed it before. original window motors have rivets that have to be drilled out. sorry if that doesn't help. if it won't go up at all, sounds like it might be a bad switch. if you have an understanding friend with an fbody who won't mind getting up at almost one in the morning, call him and see if he can bring his window switch over. at least it will get it up. and for older cars, just like older men, half the battle is getting it up. Good luck man.

Not even a cm! I took it to a shop and they said that it sounded like the switch-$30. If it is in fact the motor though-$290 Im hoping for the switch.

That's still luckier than I was. It was my whole regulator assembly (which includes the motor). $340!

I actually just got the call. $350 for the motor, regulator and labor. I was gonna use that money for a pair of Nitto's. I guess not anymore. Thanks

you can get a new motor with a lifetime warranty from advance auto or any of those type stores for 85. Use brents install page and with a few hours of your time it will be under 100.

Yeah. Blue bird beat me to that one. You're crazy if you spend 350 bucks on one of these motors. any auto parts store will have them for less than 100 dollars, and the work can be done by even a novice (with patience) in an afternoon. hardest part is figuring out how it fits up in there, but with brent's install guide, it will go much more smoothly. i've gotten to where i can disassemble, change, and reassemble in about an hour or less.

Regardless, if the window motor was going, it would still go up, but it would overheat quickly and stop working after a few inches of lifting at a time. Your problem honestly sounds like a switch, and when i changed my door lock switch, the assembly cost me like 10 dollars from my dealer.

Shoebox also has a Awesome install guide we used to fix my friend's 97 Z28. This was simple drill three holes and drill out the rivets the rest is plug and play

It took about an hour from start to finish and that includes pulling the door panel, speaker, fixing the motor, and reinstalling everthing.

This ISN'T a $350 Dollar job!

Save your cash!
