Is my tranny slipping?

Ok, my car is programmed to shift @ 5900. A couple weeks ago it started to shift at 6200, which is where the rev limiter is set at. One of my buddies said that is exactly what his car did before the tranny went out. Is there anything else it could be. Has this happened to anyone else?

Just finished installing my new tranny in my 94. 104k on the old one. It started slipping at WOT about 2 months ago. I drove it very carefully after it started slipping in hopes that it would hold together until I could get a new tranny shipped over here. I didn't dog it once, but it still slipped a little worse everyday. This morning when I drove it in to put in the new tranny. It slipped so bad that it wouldn't go into second gear.
I'd say you have two months or so to find a new tranny before your old one gives up.
