I have a 94 Z28, and transmission has been acting funny. When I'm moving my second gear grinds when I put it in, it also has just started doing this is first gear. But when I'm sitting still it goes in just fine. Any suggestions?

 

Sounds like your synchronizers are bad....

Gonna need a rebuilt...

Little piece of advice - dont have any work done at More Performance Inc. They are horrible... they have rebuilt my transmission 3 times, ive given them over $3000 and it still is broken again... I make no real HP to break it, and baby the car. They do poor work, and dont stand behind it...

You can probably get a rebuild for about $1500-$1800 from a reputable place... I'd get a steel 3-4 shift fork while I was in there. You can buy one from a junkyard for about $1000. To be honest, these transmissions are super expensive....

If I was you, Id look at getting a junkyard one, unless you know someone who can give you a good rebuild with a good warranty.
