my times at milan dragway last night....

I have a 95 t/a 6 spd with these mods...
cai, mac mid headers, computer tune by madz, deleted cat and hooker exhaust. I have 342 gears and left everything except the spare tire in the car.
My best run was a 13.68 at 102.43 mph with a 2.0x 60ft. time. I'd like to do a cam or heads or 4:10 gears this winter (finances dictate the "ors" instead of "ands")
What do the knowledgable feel would be my best gain for the buck? The smell when I left the track last night screams that a new clutch is coming soon too!
p.s. it was 80 degrees when I was running and I never let the car cool down.
Thanks for any advice.

Nice times.Just my opinion-I would get a cam first.Which one really depends on what you want out of it.Then heads and or gears.

Nice runs, I would do the clutch first, no sense in building up a motor and not be able to get the power to the rear wheels.

Get some good tires and a clutch to put that power to the ground. Get that 60 down and you'll be doin pretty good. Stay with the 3.42 gears the 4.10s will just break...unless you want to trade gears...hehe.

I'm with you on this one...learn how to race the car before throwing money at it to increase its power output.

Go to Driveline-Solutions and get 4.10's installed. The new GM Gears Scott uses are just as good as your OEM 3.42, and he has great prices, and everyone in Michigan recommends him.

I ran the exact same time as you but my 60ft was a 2.06. I have the mods in the sig plus weight reduction when I ran that time. (car weighted 3200 w/me in it) My only advice is some drag radials. I am waiting for some cold weather to try for better times.

I ran a 13.8 in my car with a cracked bellhousing, and stock exhaust with just a cat back. I'll be about a 13.4 now. Oh yeah mine is an auto.

I don't see where the need to tell someone to "learn how to race" when I see nothing about running good tires and cutting 2.0's...which is not bad at all.

What should he cut on stock tires and minor mods...a 1.6X 60'?

I was implying more seat time in the car and optimize the combo that he had. I concurred with the gear and tire recommendation too, neither of which add any power to the combination. A common reply to this type of question is to add a mod for more power...and I think we can all agree the car is capable of a quicker ET with what it has.

Don't YOU cut 1.6X 60-foot times on stock tires and minor mods??

Re: my times at milan dragway last night....

I appreciate you're reply cantonracer! I was confused by my need to "learn how to race" when I was cutting 2.0 60' times on non drag radial tires. I assumed it wasnt meant as negative though. My main issue though is what will give me the "largest gain". It seems I could do any one of these mods for under a grand (including the new clutch) but I'm affraid a new clutch, sticky tires and a regeared stock rearend is just begging for breakage. I really plan on doing the "right" rearend eventually so maybe I should ask what gains can be expected by just doing a cam on stock heads with my 3:42's for now?.
I do plan on at least 4:10s or higher when I do the rearend whether now or later.
