Exclamation My tach keeps freezing up!

I was driving my car today and while I was sitting at a redlight I thought that my car was ideling high. When I got home I turned the car off and the tach stayed at 1500 Rpms. Anyone know how to fix this or even if I can?

Sorry I don't really know where to tell you to start except get a wiring diagram and start looking. I've never heard of that and don't want to send you on a bunch of wild goose chases without seeing it.

I've never heard of it either. Never even seen this on any car before. My engine is idleing fine, but the tach says differently. Don't get me wrong, I know the tach isn't right.

Re: My tach keeps freezing up!

if you have access to one hook up the tech 2 and see what it says that might give you a starting point but im not real sure if the tach signal comes from the crank sensor or the opti. so I really don't know where to tell you to start other than see if you can find out where the tach signal comes from and to see what the tech 2 says or maybe a generic scanner
