My Stroker Wont Start please Help!!
Hey Todd wassup. Thanks for joining my DRAMA LOL. No I have not yet pulled the coil off. But I will as soon as my wife will let me LOL. I was going to run a voltage check on the ICM yeasterday to see if the OPTI is working using SHOEBOX info. BUt I had no time to. I think I might just take tomorrow off so I can get going on it. IM going to be busy this whole weekend. MAKING SOME RIBS this weekend YUMM
Anyway Im going to check those wires going into the firewall just like GETA said. I have not looked under the Passenger side kick panal in a while. Hopefully I will not find any rats that have chewed up my wires or something. You know TODD another theory too. My car also feels like it could be just a simple short in a wire or something. MAybe thats why it felt like it wanted to kick when we put gas in the intake.

Chris,
There are way too many cats around the car to have a rat (or more likely field mice) get into it...
Too bad I'm going to LACR for a TNT day (I would go to Cal Speedway but have to be in Bakersfield for a wedding - any hetrosexual males worst nightmare
) and won't get back until late Sunday night otherwise, I'd be hittin you up about some ribs...
Anyway, I have not been able to find the extra coil I have (or had anyway).
Let me know if I can help. And most definately let me know when you get the beast running and I'll bring the computer over and we'll get some real-time data on what it is doing.

Hey Todd. No problem I will let you know. IM going to run the Impedence meter on the ICM this weekend and see where were at maybe ill get lucky on something and throw a YO 11. lol

Update:
Ok Today I performed shoebox NO spark test testing the ICM for signals. I believe the test concludes that my OPTISPARK is bad. With the key on testing the A D Ground Shoebox says that I should get at least 12DV. IM getting 2-5 Volts. I replaced the coil with a new one and ran the same test again. Same result 2-5 Volts. [B]GETAZ[B]: I Check to see if those four wires are pluged in and they were. But something really really intrest me while under the kick panel on the passenger side. There is a black wire that runs along underneath the kick panel door seal. The wire looks like it has black molding on it. Almost as if the wire has been glued in. I traced that wire underneath the panel and it is cut. I have no Idea were that wire goes. All I know is is that its cut. I really hope you all know what im talking about becuase its hard to explian. The wire is black and it appears that its burned into the carpet along with a red wire. Can someone tell what that wire is?
Going back to the OPTI spark. Im very interested in the LTCC set up. IF indeed my opti is bad. Would I still be able to use the LTCC and just get rid of the OPTI in its entirety?

Chris,
Is the wire just cut and you can see both pieces or is it cut and you only have 1 piece? If it is simply cut, throw a quick splice on it and see what happens
My understanding of the LTCC is that you have to have a good functioning optical section of the Optispark. The LTCC and the PCM get their signal from there and then separate it to each coil.

Todd its weird. The wire is cut and and I can not trace it anywhere. The wire goes into the carpet and I pull the carpet back and I dont see where it goes. What do you mean by splice it? Im getting frustrated

I think I might have put my Opti on wrong
I think I might have put my opti on wrong and why Im not getting any spark. I was looking at photos of opti sparks from the side that goes into the cam area. I noticed three what looked to be bolt ports. This is going to sound dumb. But are those three bolt ports suppose to house the Cam BOLTS? IM not sure If I did that when I put the opti on. I just kinda placed it on there but didnt have any trouble getting on the opti. I was told "YULL KNOW IF THE OPTI IS ON WRONG BECUASE IT WILL NOT GO IN" But I see those bolt ports and it makes me wonder. My car is not sparking at all. The only sign of spark is when I put gas in the intake area and the car acted like it wanted to start. Im wondering if its becuase those bolt holes are missing the cam bolts from time to time. My car is a 94 LT1

Blown. I dont remember if I saw a 3 leaf clover deal. Ill check again. Are they suppose to be on the 94 Opti sparks? I remember spinning that pin that goes into the cam before I put it in. But can't remember if I have seen that 3 leaf clover. If I take out the opti I might as well replace it.

Only the vented Opti has the "clover" on the back, with three holes in it, one for the dowel pin. The unvented Optis just have a splined hole for the driveshaft.

Injuneer is correct that you have the spline drive on your opti. The cam bolts are on the timing gear inside the timing cover. If the opti pretty much slid onto the splines, it is on correctly...
Try using one of the fresh plugs you have to see if you get any spark, before you pull the opti. Also check your electrical harness to the opti - if nothing else, unplug it and re-plug it in.
OK based on Shoebox's diagram I noticed that on the 94 OPti there is a small shaved key that must fit into the slot of the cam gear. When I put the opti on I just threw it on there. ALL OF THE PROBLEMS THAT YOU ALL SEE IN THIS POST THAT I HAVE:is it possible If I didnt put that key deal in the cam gear could this be a result of all my problems?

Chris,
The shaft is splined so that it will only go in one way. If you were able to slide the opti on, then you had it aligned correctly. You could always pull the opti off to see if it was installed correctly. You have to remember that your timing gear has to have the correct splines. Did you replace the timing gear for the new stroker?
