Is my optispark on its way out?

This past Saturday I had 4:10's put in my car and I had the plugs changed to TR55's. I have MSD wires but there simply wasn't enough time to do the wires also. When I took it out for its test ride after the plugs and 4:10's, I noticed the car has a skip in it around 4500 rpm's and then loses power around 5200+ rpm's. I don't know if it is the opti beginning to crap out or if I only need some new wires. The car also has an MSD coil and 6AL Ignition Box if that matters. All input welcome. Thanks.

If I were you I'd do the wires first, and try that

I just replaced my wires/plugs and from what I can tell it took care of my stumble/breakup

Didn't drive it much though due to my oil leak

Yeah I will try the wires first definitely, but my mechanic said he's 99% positive its the opti starting to go though.
