my oil is white

this is what happened:
i just put in new heads, cam, electric water pump, timing cover, switched to vented opti, and new timing chain. i sealed the timing cover to the oil pan with rtv. it started up right away but since the valves weren't adjusted i didn't let it run for long, maybe 3 minutes. when i shut it off i discovered oil all over the ground maybe 2 quarts. it had leaked out of the timing cover to oil pan seal. when i drained the oil it was white. what happened?

Re: my oil is white

If the oil is white, it means it's mixed with coolant. You may have blown a head gasket or who knows...

Sounds like water in the oil.

Re: my oil is white

i am hoping that it is just because i didn't drain the oil when i took the heads off but how much coolant gets into the oil when you take the heads off?

Not to bust your bubble, but, coolant + bearings =

Did you drain any of the coolant before you took the heads off? Seep down through the cylinder walls?

yeah the coolant was drained before i took the heads off. it started up fine and run great for at most 3 minutes then i shut it off, i just wanted to see if it would start up. i refilled the coolant with just water before the intial start up.

Not that much, if any, if you drained the coolant first. I wouldn't be betting on that.
