My Jet hot long tubes exit right into the tranny crossmemember
On the driver side the collector exits pointing right at the crossmember. If I have a y pipe made that goes under the cross memeber it will have to make a very radical turn (like exit the collector and go 90* down in less than 2") and it will be bad for air flow. Do they exit like this on all A4 cars or are my motor mounts somehow sagging to cause this. Has anyone else had this problem? What did you do? Any pictures?

I would think its safe to say all of us with hooker LTs and autos have this problem.
A decent exhaust shop should be able to bend the pipe around it, I don,t think its that bad of a bend.
I am running my header muffler right over it but it cuts my ground clearance and the nasty vibes it induces have convinced me I need to do some kind of pipe work.

yeah when i had mine fabbed up he had to bend it in just a little bit... id say the flow difference is nothing whether it was there or not... plus, what would you rather have... stock manifolds and ypipe with cat(s).... or long tube headers with a custom ypipe (nocats) that has a little dent in it... i opted for the long tube setup

There is a company out there that offers exhaust pieces that are designed for clearing frame portions. What they do is to make the pipe a more flat oval and simply form a valley where the crossmember sits. It's designed to flow just like a round 3" pipe does, so flow should be fine.
I know that new y-pipe available from summit for Hookers comes with the piece in it, and you can purchase that part seperately, but I can't remember where.
