My Hotcam Kit........
Well, I finished my install of the GM Hotcam Kit about 2 weeks ago, and as usual, I had a few bugs to work out. BTW, thanks to the members of this board for all the useful information I found to fix my problems.
I waited about 40 miles to let everything seat correctly. Yes, i know there is no break in time for a hydraulic cam, but I just wanted to make sure. Today is the first pretty day we have had here in a while, so I took the car out for a spin and decided it was time to hammer it. WHEW!!! I am impressed with the upper rpm pull of this cam. It pulls like a raped ape to redline, and also has good manners in stop and go traffic.
Just thought I would share my positive experience with my fellow F-body owners.
Ohh, my mods are as follows:
1le elbow
moroso cai
bbk 52mm tb
bbk headers
borla
adj pressure regulator
granatelli maf
3:73 richmond gear
Built tranny with 2800 rpm stall
crane hi6s ignition
moroso wires
Nx wet kit 75 shot
BTW, does anyone have any idea what I would run at the track?
The nearest one is in Charleston, W.V. and it is only an 1/8th mile.

My little brother just installed a Hotcam kit and it is very
His mods are:
K&N FIPK
1LE elbow
PCmforless computer tune
ported heads (probably Stage 1)
Hotcam
1.6 RRs
chromolly pushrods
hooker longtubes
offroad 3" ypipe
That is it. He took that car to a local 1/8th mile track with ET Streets. he has no suspension mods. He lauched exceptionally well and about 40 ft out, he started roasting the ET streets. Now I don't think this is totally because of the power his car is making, but none-the-less it was definately a sight to see.
He also beat a Blown 98 Cobra from a roll and from a stop. Not as much from the punch, but from a stop was ridiculous.
