My heater isn't getting hot!!?

My wife and I just drove a couple hours away for Thanksgiving yesterday and on the way back, the heater would not blow hot. I thougt at first it just wasn't up to temp., but it never got hot the whole trip home!

It has done this a couple times before, but then always works the next time I drive the car. Any thoughts?

Have you put a lower temp. thermostat in? this also may have to contributed to the problem.

Even with a low temp thermostat, you will be able to blow hot air once operating temps are normal. Flush the heater core like b-stevens says.

If you can't flush it and still doesn't work just change the **** out. Takes like 30 minutes. Piece of cake. I just pulled mine last saturday and bypassed it. The hardest part was making the U elbow with clamps for the bypass.

I flushed my heater core today, and let me say it made a world of difference. There was a little air in my lines too, you might want to check that. I can actually feel my toes while driving now
