My first time at the track tonight

I was getting faster as the night went on, but I started to feel like a jackass being the only street car in the staging lanes, and my final run was against a 7.1 sec mustang with parachutes.

First Run
60' : 2.236
1/8 :9.118
1/4: 14.111
MPH : 100.86

Last Run
60' : 2.098
1/8 : 8.934
1/4 : 13.863
MPH: 101.78

What do you think with the mods I have? I have problems with the car bogging off the line, guess I just need to practice walking it out the hole.

I assume you raced at SCD or NPR? Either way, those are pretty good times for your 1st try. I think your car should have another 2 tenths and 2 mph in it with good air and good shifting based on your mods.

Yeah I was at No Problem. I plan on practicing some more on getting a better launch and power shifting, hopefully I can pull 2 tenths more. I have a 150 shot in it, which I didn't spray tonight because of a fuse problem, but I'm sure I'll pick up a few tenths more with that

Go

Good times, throw some drag radials on and use your 150 shot and your looking at 12's for sure. 60 foot could use some improving, but dr's should solve that along with some practice at your launch.

Just wondering, whats the best my 60' could be on street tires? I probably wont run DR's because I cant afford to blow my rearend up right now. I'm just running the Nitto 555 street tires. Can I get those to around 2.02?

Nice runs.. trap speed does seem a little anemic for the mods.... do you know what the DA was that night?

This will depend on track prep and driver skill. What you need to do is log all info pertaining to each pass you make including tire pressure, race weight, launch rpm etc. Consistency here will indicate what changes work and quickly realizing what doesn't. Experimenting with launch rpms and getting the car in the "groove" will help. Chances are you will need to slip the clutch to get a good 60' on street tires.

Good Luck!

Yeah I know my 60 foot could be much better. I bogged the car every time, even on that 2.09. I realized I'm gonna have to start logging things like you said. The thing was I was getting nervous at the line and forgetting all the basic things my cousin had taught me that would probably get my extra 2 tenths off.

If anything you want to have a small amount of tire spin rather than bogging. Aviod bogging at all costs. A 2.09 60' time is not bad at all. 13.8 is a fast car. Congrats
