I spun the tires for most of first gear and Hooked hard on 2nd with a quick sprint to 100mph. I am very pleased with the results. I havent felt this car feel so good since it was brand new.

The best part is... I had no Knock counts and therefore no Knock retard at all for the entire run. When I first installed the whole set up including new lifters and new valve steam seals the Long Term fuel trims shot up to somewhere in between 128 and 132 from 109 - 112 before. Now after a bit over 100 miles on the new set up it has returned back to somewhere between 126 and 128. I am not complaining here.

I had found one OEM Old rocker arm not receiving lubrication and wearing out at the Pushrod and Rocker conection and since I had the Intake leak I figured it was time to fix the whole thing and upgrade some stuff in the process.

I went with 1.7 roller rockers, Beehive Ovate Springs, Valve locks, Valve Keepers, hardened pusrods, guides, OEM Valve stem Seals, New Water Pump, New Opty spark (old one was good but at 148k miles it was time) New gaskets all around including all the seals on the Timing chain cover,,, New timing chain (preventive maintanance) new OEM lifters (didnt want to mess with touchy lifter adjustments)

My MSD6a is not installed yet. I wanted to see how the car ran without it it. For the ones who are listening here... MY long and short term trims had gone down to the pits... she was running pig rich and it had developed a tiny misfire.. As I began to remove parts I was shocked to find out that every one of the Intake manifolds bolts had loosened up. I ended up removing them all by hand... my intake vacum had dropped to 17 inches at idle .. now its at 23 and holding steady. My Last logged Wot run before the fixin up was giving me Knock count and 7 degree retard from 2500 rmps till about 3500 RPMs... all that is fixed now. I think the Intake was leaking vacum (or sucking air) around it.. oh I did something funny... I changed the spark plugs with TR5's thinking the larger gap may have been giving my old ignition coil a hard time...

Well if it wasnt for the noisy rollers I would say the car is better than brand new. It runs like a Champ and I think the Vacum leak was the reason why the car was running rich. Maybe the slight misfire was fooling the O2,s.

I was looking at my last logs prior to the repairs and I noticed the MAF reported less intake air of23grms at 5500 rpms than it does now.. I do have a clogged air filter and I am sure after the CAI this number is gunna skyrocket....since it already sucks more air than it did before. the air filter has been there for a very long time and I know its chocking the engine with the OEM set up in addition to it.

As of now I am very pleased with the engine... it developed a crap load of low end torque. The One thing that has me puzzled its the position of the Iac. it went from about 38 down to 10 and the actual position at full operating temp is now 0.... no room for that little motor to idjust idle vacum yet the engine idle is steady... worse Idle I have logged so far is 25rmps over the requested rpm over say 1/2 a second. Also the MAF idle is only reporting 5 grms sec as opposed to 7 grms sec when it had the vacum leak. the vacum is great so I know I dont have leaks now so I am assuming the engine is way way more efficient now and its needs less gas and air to idle... Injectors are firing at 2.7 milliseconds now as opposed to 3.2 before the work done.

If the LT4 valve covers werent so expensive they would be on my engine right now... ugly and all.... I dont like to hear noise from the engine. I rather hear it from the exhaust..

Thats all folks.
