my first dyno #'s

with the bolt on car in my sig. i made a best of 293rwhp and 330rwtq AT 4000rpm after that it was falling on it's face b/c my computer is picking up knock so it's time for some tunning with tuner cat or an lt4 KM(what do you all think?), I guess the guy running told me if i got my tunning issues figured out i'd easily pull 300 rwhp so what do you guys think? are these good numbers for headers, filter, exhaust system, port and polished MAF, and a smooth bellows? let me know!

Hey man great numbers, but I would definatly look into an LT4 KM. I think if you get some tuning you should see about 315rwhp.

Nice numbers.

Those are some good numbers. Just wondering though, I'm doing pretty much the same mods(MAC headers, ORP, and Borla cat-back with an LT4KM, Taylor OVC wires, TB Bypass, and factory ram air with a K&N), do you think I'd put down around 300RWHP? I've heard those hooker shorties are pretty restrictive unless you do some grinding, did you modify them at all?

Thanks and once again, great numbers!

yeah the headers were grinded a little I'm not sure they were done to the extent that they should have or could have been but.. thanks guys do you think I should do, tuner cat or lt4 module? if it's the lt4 KM what do they cost?

I picked up a LT4 KM from a board member for $15.00 shipped, they usually cost around $36 shipped from GM Parts Direct I believe

Do a search for Jason Cromer's phone #. He will be able to give you the best deal on an LT4 KM.

I would try the KM first. For $35 that may solve your problems.

Few things..

How was the weather that day (humidity, baro pressure, temp). What kind of Air/Fuel numbers were you putting up. If that was off, that alone could have caused it to knock. I would bag your ported MAF also cause without reprogramming your MAF tables in your program, its gonna have incorrect readings at the MAF which will throw your A/F mixture off. It's a lot easier to tune with the stock MAF and since you don't have a lot of major mods (turbos/superchargers) its not gonna buy you anything and you may actually lose power. Generally, you should make the most power at about 13:1 on your A/F ratio but every car and set up is different. Thats something you just have to play with on a dyno assuming your hooked up to a wide band O2 sensor, and find your sweet spot. You won't be able to adjust it though unless you have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator (the quick cheet way to adjust your A/F ratio) or do it with a reprogram. Just my input.

weather was nice not real sure on the humidity, temp was around 85-88 air fuel was dead on...from what he told me i should be getting the charts in the next day or two so i'll check that, the MAF I don't really know if it would affect or not b/c it's not ported in the sense that I cut the black bar holding the diodes, all i did was port the aluminum bar and descreened the housing. I don't really know how much that would change it.
