My exhaust smell burns my eyes

If i take my car down the road, the exhaust smell will make my eyes water. I thought is was burning coolant, so i canged my headgaskets with no luck. I also changed wires, plugs, opti, coil. I dont have a cat on the car right now, because i need to get it welded, but my buddies car has no cat, and it doesnt smell that bad. Has anyone had this happen to them?
My o2s have about 40k on them

Thanks Chad

What does it smell like? Can you give a description of it at all?

Also, can you see smoke? If so, what color is it? Do you have carbon deposits on your rear bumper?

Its hard to describe what it smells like. If i put my nose to the tips i can only stay for a split sec, because it will burn my eyes. I would say maybe unburnt gas if i had to guess. I cant see any smoke, and there is no coolant in the oil. Could it be egr,or injectors?

I heard that if your running really really rich, the exhaust will make your eyes water. My buddys carburated 302 w/o cats in his stang did the same thing. We tore the engine apart for his restoration anyways so we'll never know what was causing it.

my buddy's 5.0 does it. I just thought it was because of no cats. Could be his cam and tuning though.

Too much fuel. I've also heard that LT1s run a little rich to begin with.
