My Dyno numbers?

I have a 94 Formula A4 car. I had my car dynoed on a dynojet chasis dyno. I made a total of three pulls to get a baseline. My best hp and tq was 239.7 rwhp and 295.8 at the peak. My car is mostly stock except for a hooker aerochamber replacement muffler, high flow cat, k&n filter, and coolant bypass. What do ya'll think about my numbers? Also does anybody have the SLP CAI, and if so how do ya'll like it. Is there a good sop pants improvement and what gains have you got with it on the dyno.

I would say your #'s are pretty good, considering your an auto. I have the slp cai i can tell a difference from stock. But not a huge difference. Mostly up top. The install wasn't too bad, and it looks great.

Yeah its 285, so it would probably be around 245-255rwhp for an manual. Not sure about an auto though

That was for the dual cat 96 and 97. The 94s and 95s had 275.

if my calculations are correct if u give 25% loss throught the drive train thats 320 with minimal mods, i say pretty good i know 96ish mustangs put out 208 or so rwhp

20% loss for manuals and 25% for autos
correct me if im wrong

15% for manuals and 20% for autos at the stock and/or bolt-on 230 ~ 300 RWHP levels. When you get up into the higher power levels....those numbers drop of course. I've been told at this power level (in sig) the parasitic loss is more like 13 ~ 14% .....as the power goes up the % of power loss from drivetrain will go down because the drivetrain can only soak up so much power.

My car dyno'd at 238 HP and 275.3 TQ stock, so you're basically right on.

I just dynoed again recently after the SLP CAI and Magnaflow catback and came up to 264 HP and 290 TQ.

Sounds about right for an A4.

Hmm...only gained 2 hp with your mods over LWillman. But about 20tq. I wonder why you gained so much torque but not much hp. But maybe your car had a little less hp to start off with then his did.

I always thought that GM underated all of the F-bodies. I have a friend with a 97 M6 with a K&N filter and Borla, dynoed at 278 at the wheels. And before my hotcam kit, through full exhaust, I was pulling all over him, with an A4. I have also seen lots of people up around the 270-280 rwhp range even higher with fairly stock Lt1's. I guess it just depends, thats why there are "freak" cars out there.

You have average numbers there for an A4. Multiple back-to-back dyno pulls can vary by as much as 8-10 hp/tq depending on conditions so depending on the number of pulls you did I wouldn't be too concerned. I've been told I have a freak multiple times because with only the addition of CAI, 3" cutout, TB bypass, and LT4KM I pulled the numbers in my sig below. This was with the original iron manifolds, cats, and opti/plugs/wires at 93k miles. Running through the crappy non-WS6 T/A exhaust (read: extremely restrictive) I pulled 272/319. Not too shabby I guess. On the other hand, I remember someone on here posting that their 96 or 97 WS6 pulled 292/31x when it was completely stock...if that's true, then that's a true freak.

I can't wait to see my numbers after I get my headers installed.
