My coil is shorting out - burnt wire, plug?
I am running extremely rich. I have replaced plugs with ac delco's and tried autolite 106's, tried taylor 8mm wires. Maybe something is still wrong - I will try new stock plugs and wires from the dealer again.
The problem I saw last night was that the coil was shorting out. My guess is that some wire or plug is bad, and the electricity goes to the path of least resistance, which appears is the coil in this case. The blue light I noticed was sparking between the square metal band that goes around the coil and the coil itself, on the intake side, if that makes sense.
Anyway my new engine has never been right for two years now and I'm losing hope and interest in the beast in general. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Nate.
