Ok, i have a 94 z28 with 121k miles on it. (Videos at the bottom of post)

I have some serious rpm fluctuating

Im fairly sure my problem has something to do with the ignition system. Ive had some studdering for a year or so now but lately its been getting bad. it doesnt seem to bad when the engine is cold but once its up to operating temp its really noticeable.

Also im not sure if its related but it seems to get up around 210 degrees pretty quick if its not moving.

When its sitting at 800 and bumps up to 1000-1100 thats not me, it does that on its own, Also the speedo moves up past 10mph in this video but the car isnt moving...not sure what thats about

 

might be off topic, but look at that oil pressure... make sure theres enough in there..... that could definately effect how fast it heats up as well.. and as far as ignition goes, u could take it to advance autoparts and have them scan it for any kind of problems there..auto zone only does OBD II cars i believe but advance does them all... if u replace the ignition, my 94 just got the MSD unit and it helped a LOT. dist, coil, cap n rotor button.. hard to do and pricey, but worth it

 

Original opti? Check the obvious first, arcing wires, bad plugs, carbon tracked cap and rotor. Also check for a sticking IAC valve and vacuum leaks.

 

I would say the Opti is on its way out.
