hey guys. not 2 sure if im posting this is the right section but here it is. ive lost bout 1 inch ride height on my passenger side. i took my car 2 a shop and the mech said im gonna need new struts and shocks .now.. what kind of shocks and struts should i get? its stock now i beleive it s the decarbons?. ive got a 97 ss convt with 18' rims. i was looking at the slp take offs and also the level 1 suspension package. what would u recommend and why. thanx. Springs, not struts/shocks determine the ride height. I doubt that the gas pressure in struts would raise the ride height an inch. You can compress a new strut with your hands. Maybe you should stop carrying around very heavy passengers.

The "mechanic" just wants to sell you struts. Go elsewhere.

Upgrading your suspension depends on how you drive/race the car. Were you happy with it before it "fell"?

By SLP takeoffs, do your mean (almost) new stock struts they removed to upgrade customer cars?

hey. funny that u mentioned about having heavy people in my car cuz thats what happened i had a full house in my car but they werent that heavy. how long does stock springs last? i was very satisfied with the ride height. i dont race my car or really push it hard on the street

im assuming that if its the shocka and springs all 4 would have went down. so would u suggest just getting then stock springs from the slp take offs? or upgrading 2 somthing newer? thanx.
