My car is a freak
My car is a freak
Ok, as many of you know I have a slight problem with my eletric waterpump. If you dont, Ill discribe it to you.
Sometimes it works, some time it doesn't. When it doesnt work, turning off the car and turning it back on "fixes" it.
Also, sometimes the car doesn't start up right away. It just sits there being all retarded and stuff. Anyway, It will start if you leave the key in start most of the times. Other times I have this quick starter in the back, and it starts right up. Power from the Alternator is great, and it hasn't been a consent enough of a problem for me to worry about it to much.
Now here is where it gets good. My water pump is wired to come on when the key is in the "on" position. (fans come on too) While I installed it myself, I didnt do the wiring. If the Pump is wired to the live wire coming from the starter, and its conection is lose(not very good, gay, bad, horrible) COULD (in theory) this cause the problem. Draining power from the battery(starter) when i go to start it, and the lose wire causing the waterpump to fail at times????
Thoughts? Comments? I'd like to look at it this weekend, Im about to trade it to a guy for a new stock waterpump.

IMO just get the stock one, youll have peace of mind (and about 10less HP). too much worryin if u ask me. If any connection is loose then definately fix it,i dont know if i understand the problem 100% but check your battery cables, youd be surprised how a little corrosion will hamper the connection,i strongly recommend u check the cables first
Rewire your pump. Running it of the starter is not good.
You need to put in a relay and have a live feed from the battery and use a key on for the relay like the cruise control or something. The wiring isn't that hard really, just real important.

What pump do you have? I had intermittent problems with my Mizere shortly after I first installed it. Sometimes it would quit working, others it would blow the inline fuse as well. Turned out to be loose connections inside the pump. I pulled it apart and the power wires just connected to the motor via those spade slip fit type connectors and they were all black and charred from all the arcing. I pulled the wires off and cleaned up the connections and soldered them back on and havent had a problem ever since. If you dont have the pump hooked up via a relay you really need to rewire it with one.
